Description: I took this photo of a velvet antlered whitetail buck at stock pond late one evening in Gillespie County. As I was taking pictures I noticed the buck kept staring down to my left but did not see the two turtles walking towards him till I zoomed in on this photo later. It was very dry from late summer into winter and this stock pond was almost dry, so it was a mecca for wildlife. This photo was taken on 8/17/2024.
