Description: A big beautiful porcupine at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. At a distance I thought I might be looking at a beaver. This might be a once in a lifetime encounter, and I'll never forget that face when it turned to look at us coming down the trail. As it moseyed off nonchalantly I realized just how important its defenses are. I hope we meet again.
