A longtime resident of San Marcos, Susan Hanson is particularly passionate about photographing life in the San Marcos River. Snorkeling there once a week year ’round, she photographs fish, turtles, plants, and the occasional kayaker paddling by. She is also an avid bird photographer, so much so that her husband built her a bird blind overlooking their small backyard pond. When not photographing nature, Susan frequently writes about it.
