Raena Wharton was raised on a ranch right under the X in TEXAS. She grew up exploring the oak-covered hills and limestone creeks of the Hill Country, and her first love was showing cutting horses. Though horses will always hold a place in Raena’s soul, she has discovered a second passion in nature photography. As a nature photographer, free-lance writer, and former English professor, Raena has always focused on possibilities, especially those that can be shared. She loves roaming just to see what she can discover, and often grabs a camera to pursue anything from a lizard to an elk. It could even be an unusual cloud formation or singular bloom; Raena cherishes images that spark a thought of “ahhh…” or an exclamation of “WOW!” She strives to create photos that help others vicariously see through her lens and be awed as well. Through photography, Raena remains consistent with her mission to escort people to the natural beauty that is available every day. As Raena expresses in her daily Instagram post, all we need to do to experience beauty is “squeeze the day.”
